More than 30 hands-on and computer-based activities are built into a sequence of events that begin “on Earth” in “Mission Control,” where visitors learn about rockets and space travel. They can travel through the Star Chamber to a life-size version of the Space Shuttle Mid Deck, where they play the part of astronauts who live and work in microgravity. An “air lock” leads into the Solar System room where activities demonstrate the relative sizes and distances between the planets in our solar system.
